Fillamentum launches Flexfill Vertigo Grey and Pistachio Green for high quality finishes

Czech Republic headquartered 3D printer material brand Fillamentum has launched two new filament colors to meet customer demand. TPU-based Flexfill 98A is now available in Vertigo Grey, Fillamentum’s most popular color. It is joined by the new, vibrant Pistachio Green.

Released this month, the materials have already received support from the brand’s fanbase. According to a review by YouTuber I R Blinx, the filaments are “Glorious to print with” giving an excellent surface finish and (with Vertigo Grey in particular) a brilliant sheen.

Flexifill 98A – a high resistance, tough material for end use

Fillamentum Flexfill filament comes in two grades: 92A and 98A. 92A is the softer of the two materials, and 98A, respectively, has a higher hardness. By adding Vertigo Grey and Pistachio Green options to the Flexfill 98A range, Fillamentum has broadened its TPU selection to a range of almost 20 different shades, from Signal Red through to Metallic Grey and Sky Blue.

A semi-flexible material, Flexfill 98A has a tensile strength of 53.7 MPa, 98 Shore A hardness and 60 Shore D harness. Its recommended print temperature is between 220 and 240 °C, and 50 – 60 °C for the bed, with Magigoo suggested for adhesion.

These properties, according to Fillamentum, equate to “high abrasion resistance, toughness, great chemical and thermal resistance.” Dynamically stressed parts, such as sealings, are an ideal application for the material, as verified by the I R Blinx test print of a fixture for his shed. With a dual extrusion system, Fillamentum also suggests using Flexfill to print an extra layer onto objects, giving harder parts a softer finish.

High gloss and soft to the touch

In addition to its mechanical properties, the standout feature of Flexfill 98A is its surface finish. Due to the material’s inherent elasticity and flexibility the material is soft to the touch, with excellent shape memory. A lighter shade than many other green filaments available on the market, the Pistachio Green color is vibrant in appearance. And Vertigo Grey has a high-gloss veneer created by the addition of minute glitter particles.

As with all Fillamentum materials, Flexfill 98A Pistachio Green and Vertigo Grey are guaranteed dimensions within the tolerance of +/-0,10 mm. The materials are available in 750g spools of standard 1.75 mm or 2.85 mm, starting from a price of €33.95.
