CEL RoboxPRO 3D printer technical specifications and pricing

CEL, a UK-based 3D printer manufacturer, has launched its new CEL RoboxPRO 3D printer at the Bett Show 2018.

3D Printing Industry visited the education show to get a first hand look at the new 3D printer.

The RoboxPRO FFF/FDM 3D printer is CEL’s latest machine since the RoboxDual was released in early 2017. This was a dual extrusion upgrade to CEL’s first machine, the Robox. The RoboxPRO is currently priced at £3333.90 ($4755).

Many features of the RoboxDual retained

The RoboxPRO maintains some of the key features of the RoboxDual, most notably the dual extrusion head and the Robox needle valve nozzle control technology. This patented process allows instant switching between the nozzles, making multi-filament 3D printing more efficient.

Other features which have been retained or enhanced for the RoboxPRO include integrated Wi-Fi, an FLX magnetic build plate, key-locking door, a touchscreen controller, a HEPA air-filtration system and web access with real-time print job monitoring.

A 3D printer aimed at professional users

According to CEL, the RoboxPRO was created with an especially large build volume of 210 x 300 x 400mm, in response to a demand for a larger scale 3D printer to create parts large parts individually in one print.

Another new feature is a print head with an Olsson Ruby nozzle, specialized for 3D printing highly abrasive structural materials such as glass and carbon filled nylons. Chris Elsworthy, Robox inventor, and contributor to 3D Printing Industry’s 3D printing the next 5 years series said,

“As a manufacturer of mass-produced goods, we fully appreciate the need to produce high-quality prototypes, jigs/fixtures, and components quickly and efficiently.”

Elsworthy added, “we’ve designed RoboxPRO with business and advanced education use in mind and are confident this new addition to the Robox family will help users get the most out of additive manufacturing technology to reduce lead times, accelerate innovation and enhance the quality of their products.”
