Avante Technology’s Advanced Composite Filament FilaOne Tries To Make Your 3D Prints Better

While 3D printing companies fall over themselves to create more advanced 3D printers, with every bell and whistle that they can think of, to improve the quality of your prints, Avante Technology thinks that it isn’t the 3D printer that needs to advance; it’s the 3D printer filament.

According to Wyoming based Avante Technology, FilaOne is stronger and more resilient than standard 3D printing materials, like ABS and PLA, and is not affected by humidity or excessive moisture.

Avante created the partially biodegradable material to be stronger than standard filaments for more durable prints, to be minimally affected by moisture, and to improve adhesion of the 3D printed object to the printing bed. Unlike ABS and nylon materials, FilaOne is nearly odorless when heated and will give off no unpleasant gas or smell.

The first new material using their formula is FilaOne Green, available in both 3mm and 1.75mm thicknesses, and it is scheduled for release at the end of August.  Each 1kg reel of filament will include two FilaOne Printing Adhesion Sheets, which optimizes the printing surface and helps guarantee that the model will stick firmly onto the build plate.

“Users will be able to create stronger, more useful objects, similar to what can be done on far more expensive industrial grade FDM printers” said CEO and Founder of Avante Technology Robert Zollo “Engineers and Manufacturers now can use affordable desktop printers to create useful working prototypes and even some simple production parts for fast time-to-market, without spending tens of thousands of dollars on an industrial grade printer.”

FilaOne Green is currently available in green and natural colors; however,Avante is planning to release more colors by the end of the year. The FilaOne filament and adhesion sheets will be previewed and pricing and availability will be announced at the end of this month at the 3D Printer World Expo in Bellevue, Washington on August 22-23.
