America Makes and the Youngstown Business Incubator announced, last month, a new startup competition aimed at taking 3D printing startups from inception to established business with up to $100k in cash and $50k in in-kind services from YBI. Today, that contest has officially launched so that you can now head to the AMPED competition site on PitchBurner and begin submitting your ideas.
Sponsored by the Burton D. Morgan Foundation, any 3D printing related business, or any technology related to the mission of the Ohio Third Frontier Commission, can enter until August 14. Seven finalists will be determined based on their business strength and technical ability, as well the viability of their ideas. These finalists will then head to the next round in Youngstown on November 2, 2015, where they will pitch their ideas to a team of experts, with the winners joining YBI to be funded and guided to become scalable businesses. Of course, to do so, you’ll have to relocate to the Ohio area.
You’ve got from now until August 14th to enter. If you believe your idea could be the start of something truly revolutionary in the 3D printing industry, then I suggest you head over to PitchBurner and apply.
