Afiniac eBook Details 3D Printing Projects of Afinia Users

Ah, the weekend! The perfect time to sit down, with a bottle of Kombucha in one hand and your e-reader or tablet in the other, and pore over all of those PDFs you downloaded from the public domain.  This weekend, why not read through some fine stories from the world of 3D printing? Afinia has released an eBook containing stories from some of their favorite Afiniacs.  With 10 stories from 10 Makers, you may find inspiration to tackle your next 3D printing project.

Mitch Ackmann, President of Afinia, had this to say about the eBook:

What we have for you is a collection of tales told by a few Afiniac Innovators. They cover a wide range of disciplines: from The Arts and Library Science; to Knot Theory and Fluid Dynamics; to Fishing Lures and Pipe Organ Restoration. You’ll get to know the innovators a bit, and understand how they put desktop 3D printing to use, making their ideas real.

For me, the most satisfying thing about bringing technology to market is the positive impact it has on the innovators who choose to use it, and those around them.

To our Afiniacs: Thank you for allowing us to be part of your Innovation Journey and for putting us on the map!

In this eBook, you’ll get a chance to read some stories we’ve covered on 3DPI, like the one about Steve Ryan, who assembles large scale objects using his Afinia, all on his yacht.  You’ll also hear about Dan Clark, who used his Afinias to manufacture the first production line of 3D printed headphones.  The eBook also covers some stories that we may have missed on 3DPI, so far, such as Mark Andersen, a classically trained musician and owner of an organ repair firm.  Andersen has found a unique application for his Afinia in the organ restoration business.

This eBook is only Volume 1 of what could grow into an extensive library, as Volume 2 is already on the way!
