3D Printing giant 3D Systems (NYSE:DDD) recently announced its latest acquisition: a French start-up COWEB that creates consumer customized 3D printed items. The plan for 3D Systems is to add COWEB’s consumer products to the portfolio on Cubify. Terms of the transaction have not been released.
COWEB has built innovative tools to create licenced collectibles and a wide range of various custom figurines that are possible to personalize and 3D print in full color, through the use of uploaded photos. Once the COWEB system is integrated within 3D Systems’ Cubify platform these capabilities will enable creative collaborations.
