3D Systems Expands Coverage Within Turkey

I was talking about emerging patterns in the evolution of the 3D printing sector yesterday, with respect to new 3D printing systems utilising more accurate processes at the lower end of the market. Today the pattern is geographic — specifically Turkey. Following the news last week that EOS is making in roads into that nation with a specific focus on dental applications of 3D printing, 3D Systems has subsequently released an announcement that points to expansion in the region, the application focus being jewellery in this instance.

Once again the geographic drill down comes courtesy of a collaborative reseller agreement, whereby 3D Systems is partnering with Istanbul-based Al-mera, a national leader in jewellery solutions in Turkey. The plan is that this exclusive partnership will expand the coverage and focus of 3D System’s 3D printing production solutions to the growing Turkish jewellery marketplace. According to 3D Systems, the cornerstone of the agreement is the proven ProJet® 3510 CPX and CPXPlus 3Dprinters, which provide significant advantages for jewellery applications compared with traditional jewellery casting methods. The ProJet systems reportedly offer 100% wax micro-detail patterns with superior surface quality, extreme fine detail and exceptional precision and enable rapid workflow, mass customization and improved efficiencies and productivity for jewellery manufacturers.
Michele Marchesan, Vice President and General Manager 3D printers for 3D Systems commented on the collaboration:
“We are excited to welcome a proven, highly successful partner like Al-mera to 3D Systems. This agreement allows us to cover the rapidly growing jewellery marketplace with a knowledgeable reseller and offer state of the art technology to automate the time honored casting processes of jewellery manufacturing across the region.”
