Charlie Pyott of PyottDesign LLC has created an innovative size-adjustable 3D printed case for a mouse. The outer surfaces of the mouse can be individually positioned for an ergonomic fit, then locked into position, providing personalized customization for any hand. I may be the only person far-out enough to see a Batman ‘Tumbler’ here though…
The design was printed in a single build, interlocking hinge components assembled, ready to go. The case is then added to an existing mouse without it’s shell casing. Handily the expandable design is very much not aimed at children, I’d hate to think what some would do given the chance to access the inner workings.
During development Pyott also also utilized a series of 3D-printable tools to assist in prototyping the parts in a series of hinge boards to verify the minimum tolerances for the hinges. This 3D-printed mouse is available through Shapeways for €65.
On the Tumbler front…
