3D Printable Model of the Week: #JesuisCharlie

I’m sure you’ve heard by now that 3 masked gunman stormed the offices of Charlie Hebdo in Paris, and murdered 12 people.  This was France’s worst terror attack in two decades. In NYC, hundreds of people gathered in Union Square to show solidarity and defiance of the goal of the extremists, to make people afraid to express themselves, wholly and without censorship. They were shouting, “We are Charlie” and holding pencils and signs portraying controversial covers of Charlie Hebdo like this one:

Charlie Hebdo

And this one:

Charlie Hebdo

And this one:

Charlie Hebdo

Freedom of speech trumps religious fascist nonsense, which is why our model of the week is a tribute to those who lost their lives in Paris. Created by an artist who goes by the name antiheroe and posted on Sketchfab, the 3D model depicts a cartoon bubble, riddled with bullet holes and ink pouring out. It was made to show solidarity with those who are mourning and denounce the slaughter against culture and freedom of expression.
