Manufacturing on demand

With over 2,500 manufacturing partners across the U.S, Xometry is one of the largest on-demand manufacturing services.

For 3D printing needs, Xometry’s customers can choose from a range of industrial machines from Stratasys, EOS, Concept Laser and Renishaw among others. In addition to this Xometry also offers CNC machining, urethane casting, and injection molding.

Xometry’s Instant Quoting Engine is equipped with HOOPS Communicator viewer for a high definition 3D CAD visualization. The quotation engine is based on neural network machine learning and checks each uploaded 3D file against the ‘design for manufacturing’ paradigm. To date, the quoting engine has issued 8 million jobs to Xometry’s manufacturing partners.

Now, with the addition of new quality assurance standards, the company hopes to increase its marketing share.

Standard of quality

Published by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE International), the AS9100D incorporates the ISO 9001:20152 standard, and defines additional requirements for the aerospace and defense industry.

Major manufacturers in the aerospace and automotive industry use the AS9100D standard to qualify their parts.

The parts manufactured by Xometry are tested on coordinate measuring machines from by Nikon, Zeiss, and Mitutoyo.

Goguen added, “It is yet another step towards achieving industry “best in class” status and being able to meet the expanded needs of our customers.”
