Tune In: Behold Wants to Host 3D Printing Podcast for Spectrum of 3DP Artists

Behold, 3D Podcasts are here to blast from the airwaves of the internet Kickstarter — or not. The podcast intends to spotlight 3D technology encompassing the spectrum of innovation and industry. Currently, Behold seeks new artists and that moniker includes software and scanning processes and 3D printing methods. Their initial taster podcast is free and worth a listen for the genuine voice and obvious passion for the 3D printing industry and those who wish to find a platform to showcase their hard work. Lino Stavole, the host and innovator, runs the show and the first podcast is undeniably adorable and ought to be funded even though Behold has already purchased the domain.

For the start-up episode, Stavole chose to highlight start-up entrepreneurs. The first guest voice comes on the show and we learn that it is one of the forces behind Stavolemon, monster toys designed by kids for kids. The young Stavole describes how she sculpts the creatures on the computer and receives help from her dad and mom who provide the support and education to further the endeavour. Her candid spirit and business savvy is astounding. The adorable young girl recounts the time, cost and materials used in her design and how that process determines the eventual price. Lino’s questions are insightful and gently guiding yet pertinent to the nuts and bolts of 3D printing. While his familiarity with his brilliant guests may have aided the inaugural podcast, it presents a positive forecast for future shows.

Stavole’s second guest happens to be another big name from Stavolemon who has produced three distinct creatures. Both guests emphasize the importance of family support and the excitement innate in 3D printing. Both guests boldly took to 3D design software regardless of the conceptual challenge. Behold admittedly has a few kinks to work out, yet to the casual listener, the sound comes in clear and the conversations, though intimate and personal, are engaging and beyond cute. The pilot episode often tends to be a podcast attempting to develop a voice and position among competing voices. However, Behold promises to present a podcast in touch with cutting edge innovation and full of childlike wonder and heart. Thank goodness this is a voice for 3D printing, and hopefully the maiden voyage guests become recurring guests. Godspeed, Stavole, I think this is a voice that should be heard.
