MakerBot Extends its Translucent Colour Range

In a news snippet from MakerBot, the company reports that it has added some new colours to its translucent PLA filament range of materials for the Rep 2 3D printer. There are four new gem-toned filaments: purple, yellow, orange and red, which join the existing blue and green to round out the collection of primary and secondary translucent colours.

The colours have been tested, obviously, and some of the ‘things’ produced are already on show on Thingiverse.

It’s a little bit twee, but MakerBot have gone with the marketing line: “If you’re looking for a new, cool direction to take your 3D prints, the choice is clear.”
