Houston-based medtech company Insight Surgery has raised $2.5 million in a Series A equity round led by US venture capital firm Nodenza Venture Partners, positioning the company for its next phase of U.S. growth. The investment follows FDA 510(k) clearance for Insight’s patient-specific surgical guides used in orthopedic and orthopedic-oncology procedures. The funding will support Insight’s nationwide expansion, including the opening of two new manufacturing facilities on the East and West Coasts and a planned doubling of its U.S. workforce in the coming months.
“This investment allows us to accelerate our plan to enable every orthopedic surgeon in the US to have easy access to Personalized Surgical devices within surgically meaningful timelines. We’re not just focused on improving surgical precision – we’re focused on doing it in a way that makes financial sense for healthcare systems. By reducing operating time, streamlining workflows, and lowering complication and readmission rates, our technology can help hospitals drive down costs while delivering better care. This investment allows us to scale that impact nationwide,” said Henry Pinchbeck, Chief Executive Officer at Insight Surgery.

Digitizing the Future of Surgery
At the heart of Insight’s offering is EmbedMed, a proprietary digital platform that enhances the surgical planning process. EmbedMed processes patient scan data and enables surgeons to simulate and evaluate surgical strategies preoperatively. It facilitates the rapid design and production of custom surgical guides, which are delivered either digitally or as physical models.
Thanks to streamlined operations at Insight’s FDA-registered and ISO 13485-certified facilities, these guides can be delivered within 10 business days—enabling surgeons to act on personalized plans without delay.

The company recently launched its U.S. operations with a cleanroom manufacturing site at the Texas Medical Center in Houston. Since then, Insight has developed strategic collaboration with Ricoh USA and partnerships with top-tier hospitals and surgeons, including those at the Hospital for Special Surgery (New York), University Hospitals of Chicago, University of Florida Health, and UAB in Birmingham, Alabama.
Ross Morton, Managing Partner at Nodenza, described Insight as a standout in the field of surgical innovation. “Insight Surgery is exactly the kind of company we look to back. Disruptive tech, with clear benefits to patients being delivered now—not tomorrow—and, with the right funding in place, the potential to be the leader in the personalized surgery market. Their platform addresses a real need in orthopedic surgery by enabling better outcomes via bespoke products, which resonates with both surgeons and health systems looking to meet patient demand in personalized surgery. We believe Insight, with the support that the Nodenza team can provide, is well-positioned to scale rapidly across the US.”
Additional Strategic Investments in Healthcare
MB Therapeutics, a Montpellier-based startup with over 8 years of expertise in pharmaceutical 3D printing, secured €2 million in seed funding to develop the first pharmaceutical facility designed to provide 3D printing compatible solutions for pharmacies. This facility will help pharmacies produce personalized medicines on-site, improving precision and meeting the growing demand for individualized treatments. The funding will also enable the launch of three high-demand medicines and prepare the company for a Series A funding round in 2026.
Elsewhere, belfast-based medical technology firm Axial3D raised $18.2 million in an investment round. The company will use the new capital to scale its AI-powered 3D medical imaging technology, accelerating its mission to increase the accessibility of patient-specific healthcare. Axial3D’s patented cloud-based AI platform converts patient scans (like CT and MRI) into detailed, 3D printable files. The resulting 3D printed models can be used for personalized surgical planning, custom implants, prosthetics, medical device testing, training, and patient education.
