Formlabs Nominated for Design of the Year 2014 Award by Design Museum London

The Design Museum in London has just announced that they have nominated the Formlabs’ Form 1 as one of their Designs of the Year 2014 — along with a world-class collection of cutting-edge projects by architects and designers such as Zaha Hadid and David Chipperfield, and innovative companies like GoPro and Nest. As a result of this prestigious nomination, a Form 1 3D printer will be on display at the Design Museum for the duration of the ‘Designs of the Year’ exhibition throughout 2014.

Formlabs industrial designer, Yoav Reches, commenting on the accolade for the 3D printing manufactuer, said: “We’re honoured and excited to be nominated for this year’s award. The Form 1 empowers professionals to realize their ideas, while introducing stereolithography as a tangible and accessible technology.”

Bringing technology and design together has been a long-held principle of the Formlabs team. “We don’t separate design and engineering when we create a product. Our users demand both,” co-founder Natan Linder said. “With this nomination, we’re looking forward to a new year as fantastic as the last.”

He’s not wrong! Since its phenomenal success on KickStarter, Formlabs continues to go from strength to strength and has started 2014 with another big bang.
