Farsoon Europe GmbH, the European subsidiary of Farsoon Technologies, a Chinese manufacturer of industrial 3D printing systems for metals and polymers, has opened its new Innovation Center in Sindelfingen, Germany. Located at Industriestraße 5/1, the site will serve as Farsoon’s permanent European headquarters and a dedicated hub for advancing additive manufacturing (AM) from prototype development to serial production.
The new facility brings together polymer selective laser sintering (SLS) and metal laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) systems within a full-scale industrial environment. Customers can validate materials, processes, and workflows under real production conditions through hands-on testing and collaborative development programs. The facility aims to ensure readiness for series production, enhance supply-chain resilience through localized manufacturing, build partnerships with OEMs and research institutes, and promote sustainable business growth while minimizing financial risk.

“The Sindelfingen Innovation Center marks an important milestone in Farsoon’s European journey,” said Oliver Huizhi Li, Managing Director of Farsoon Europe GmbH. “It’s where ideas become industrial reality — enabling our customers to move beyond pilots into true series production and long-term competitiveness.” Farsoon expects the center to reinforce its collaboration with Europe’s manufacturing ecosystem, offering faster technical support, process optimization, and direct knowledge exchange between regional partners.
Headquartered in Changsha, China, Farsoon Technologies develops and manufactures high-performance LPBF and SLS systems used in aerospace, automotive, and tooling industries. Since establishing its European subsidiary in 2018, the company has expanded its presence to provide localized expertise and technical support across the continent. The Sindelfingen facility builds on that strategy by consolidating research, validation, and customer support into a single site, advancing Farsoon’s goal of industrial-scale additive manufacturing adoption in Europe.

Expanding Global Network of Additive Manufacturing Centers
Facilities for 3D printing and advanced manufacturing drive innovation by helping industries prototype faster and train skilled workers for modern production. They strengthen local economies, support sustainable manufacturing and speed up research that leads to new technologies.
In line with this, Spanish industrial 3D printing firm Sicnova recently launched CEDAEC, the country’s first specialized center for advanced manufacturing and process certification for the defense sector. Created in partnership with the Spanish Ministry of Defense, the facility integrates metal and polymer 3D printing systems, reverse engineering, and high-precision testing to ensure the reliability of military components. The initiative seeks to modernize defense logistics by enabling digital production of parts and reducing dependency on traditional supply chains. According to Spain’s Secretary of State for Defense, the project represents a step toward greater strategic autonomy through the adoption of additive manufacturing for mission-critical production.
Elsewhere in the US, the Rochester Institute of Technology’s AMPrint Center recently secured a renewed ten-year funding agreement from the State of New York to advance additive manufacturing research and workforce development. The $5 million initial allocation will support projects that expand the use of high-performance materials, such as metals and carbon fiber composites, while strengthening collaborations with industry and academia. Established in 2015, the AMPrint Center has positioned New York as a competitive hub for applied additive research, enabling startups and established companies to prototype and test industrial-grade applications under academic guidance. Its ongoing initiatives include developing a molten-metal printing process funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), aimed at improving print speed and material range for localized manufacturing.
