Formnext Asia Shenzhen 2026 is seeing its strongest early exhibitor uptake to date, following a 2025 edition that recorded a 78% increase in visitor numbers and more than doubled international attendance. Scheduled to take place from 26 to 28 August 2026 at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center, nearly 70% of the exhibition floor has already been reserved with eight months remaining before the event opens. Shenzhen is a major manufacturing center for desktop 3D printers, and the show reflects growing activity across consumer-grade additive manufacturing tools and services.
Organized by Guangzhou Guangya Messe Frankfurt Co Ltd, the event will cover approximately 20,000 square meters and present the full additive manufacturing process chain. Exhibitors will include suppliers of 3D printing systems, materials, workflow software, post-processing equipment, and production services. Applications spanning metal, polymer, and ceramic materials will be represented. Returning exhibitors confirmed for the event include Addrieen, HP, Han’s Matrix, UnionTech, Basic Software, CNPC Powder, SUNLU, and eSUN, alongside new participants such as Kingfa Biomaterial, a polymer materials developer, Fastform 3D, Scantech, and Smartwin.

Shenzhen plays a central role in global desktop 3D printer manufacturing. Chinese manufacturers account for the majority of worldwide output in this segment. During the first quarter of 2025, global shipments of entry-level desktop 3D printers exceeded one million units, with Chinese brands responsible for approximately 95% of that volume. Shipment data shows continued year-on-year growth into the second quarter of 2025. Several rapidly expanding manufacturers in this category are headquartered in Shenzhen, reinforcing the city’s position within large-scale system production.
Use cases for desktop 3D printing are also changing. Systems that were once primarily used for prototyping, hobbyist projects, and low-volume parts are increasingly being deployed for commercial production using parallel desktop 3D printer setups. Print farms, which operate multiple machines simultaneously, are being used to manufacture end-use parts at scale. This shift is associated with increased demand for supporting tools, including design software, automation systems, post-processing equipment, and commercialization channels such as service bureaus and online sales platforms.

The event is expanding coverage of tools and services aimed at consumer-grade production workflows. New exhibitors include Meshy AI, a developer of AI-assisted 3D modeling software, and Kingfa Biomaterial, which supplies polymer materials for additive manufacturing applications. Their participation highlights increased attention on software-driven design workflows and material selection for volume production using desktop systems.
Conference programming is also being updated to address these changes. The 3D Print Farm Conference, now entering its third year as part of the event’s fringe program, will be expanded and renamed the China 3D Print Farm and Consumer-Grade AM Ecosystem Conference. Meshy AI will serve as title sponsor for the 2026 edition. Initially established as a forum focused on operational issues such as equipment selection, workflow automation, and order fulfillment, the conference will broaden its scope to cover the wider ecosystem required to design, manufacture, and commercialize products using desktop 3D printing.

Planned sessions will feature print farm operators, industry specialists, and contributors from emerging application areas. Topics will address AI-assisted design and modeling, materials development and selection, workflow and automation software, post-processing technologies, and routes to market for volume production. This expanded program builds on the wider fringe offering from the 2025 edition, which included 14 sessions and more than 150 presentations focused on technical developments, industry applications, and business strategy across sectors such as automotive, consumer electronics, mold-making, and footwear. Additional programming details for 2026 are expected to be announced ahead of the event.
