Great things have been promised by Pirate3D regarding the democratisation of 3D printing, with the introduction of the Buccaneer 3D printer, which went live on Kickstarter today. It seems many are buying into the promises as the campaign met its $100,000 goal within 10 minutes. And at time of writing (approx 6 hours in, with 29 days to go) the campaign has 591 backers and has secured $209,312 in funding.
That’s really good going, even for the 3D printer / Kickstarter affinity.
