Boston, MA and Greenwich, CT Welcome MakerBot Retail Stores

As if hearing the sleigh bells ring, MakerBot announces two new retail stores opening in time for the holiday season. Boston, Massachusetts and Greenwich, Connecticut welcome the 3D printing stores which MakerBot hopes become staples in the collection of must-have stops for eager shoppers looking for something special and customizable this year.

The first opened in Boston on November 21st at 144 Newbury Street, and the second in Greenwich on November 22nd at 72 Greenwich Avenue. Customers can expect to find well-known MakerBot products along with a few specialty prints for stocking stuffers. Stockings, for those celebrating Christmas, tend to be the optimal cotton sock meant for holding unique smaller objects. For the gifts requiring a bit more wrapping, the stores promise to offer the MakerBot® Digitizer™ Desktop 3D Scanner and MakerBot® Desktop 3D Printers.

Already under way, MakerBot is holding a contest for a Replicator 2 until December 24th. Follow the link for details. As the trend continues, it will not be long before 3D retail is as ubiquitous as coffee. A bold prediction, but MakerBot continues to take steps to form the foundation.
