Aniwaa: 3D Printing's Best Kept Secret Releases New 3D Printer Guide

After using them for reference in many of my articles for many months, I decided that it was time to contact the Aniwaa team to get to know the people behind what is possibly the most complete 3D printer (and 3D scanner) guide on the web. I told them I wanted to congratulate them for creating the website that I would have liked to have made.  As it turns out, the timing was perfect, as Pierre-Antoine Arrighi and Martin Lansard, Aniwaa’s co-founders, revealed they were about to launch the new updated and even more complete version of their online directory.  And now, that has finally arrived.

The new Aniwaa is built on an extensive database spanning more than 1,300 products (including 855 3D printers). The website’s goal is to help users find the right match for their projects, be it 3D printers, 3D scanners, 3D printing websites, 3D modeling software, and even 3D printing services. Users can easily browse through a huge selection of 3D printing products, in order to make the right choice for their needs.

This release marks a huge step towards our mission to deliver relevant 3D printing knowledge to help our users make the right choices for their 3D printing projects,” said Aniwaa’s co-founder Martin Lansard. Aniwaa offers updated information on just about every 3D printer and scanner on the market, including direct links to the manufacturer, availability, approximate price, similar and comparable products, all divided by pricing and category type.

As more and more people are looking to embrace and use this new technology, Aniwaa is focused on helping them find the right products,” said PierreAntoine Arrighi, co-founder of Aniwaa. “Our database,” he added, “is also a great resource for researchers and journalists. We’ve done our best to improve the site’s usability for all of our users, without compromising on data quality.”

Leveraging their passion for 3D printing and software programming experience, the pair launched the first version of the Aniwaa website in June 2013, followed by a French version of the website in January 2014. After quitting their programming jobs in 2014 to focus solely on Aniwaa, Martin and Pierre-Antoine are now running the company from Cambodia and Japan respectively. In this sense, they are following the globalizing (in a good way) trend of 3D printing, much like 3DPI does, with writers spread across all continents.

Now the secret is out. If you are in the market for a 3D printer or a 3D scanner, in any price range, this is probably the first place you should visit.
