3DGence launches the DOUBLE P255 – technical specifications and pricing

Polish 3D printer manufacturer 3DGence has launched a new FFF 3D printer, the 3DGence DOUBLE P255. An upgrade of the 3DGence DOUBLE reviewed by 3D Printing Industry in July this year, the DOUBLE P255 builds on an already reliable system with new features and certification for enhanced performance and quality assurance.

Filip Turzyński, Quality Development Manager at 3DGence, comments,

“One of the main design goals of 3DGence DOUBLE P255 was to create a reliable and versatile device. We have introduced a number of improvements to reduce the difficulty of using the printer.”

Inside the 3DGence DOUBLE P255

The 3DGence DOUBLE P255 has a working area of 190mm x 255mm x 195mm, and integrates the company’s patented PUSH system for easy hotend replacement.

A material flow control system and extrusion quality measurement supervises the 3D printing of each object on the DOUBLE P255, and it has an end-of-filament sensor that can stop printing before material runs out.

New features

Like its predecessor the 3DGence DOUBLE released in March 2018, the 3DGence DOUBLE P255 is a dual extrusion 3D printer. It is capable of working with a range of different materials, namely PLA, PET, PP, Nylon, ABS, Fiberflex 40D and dissolving BVOH filament. Pre-made print and support material profiles for the 3DGence DOUBLE P255 include standard PLA + BVOH, PET + BVOH, PP + HIPS, NYLON + HIPS, Smart ABS + HIPS.

To improve the stability of these printed materials, the 3DGence DOUBLE P255 comes with an enclosure as Turzyński explains, “[The] enclosure ensures a stable working temperature…”  The 3D printer also has two new hotends with an optimized cooling system to improve longevity, and an updated software package that focuses on the print chamber, “…hotend design was optimized for longer continuous operation,” adds Turzyński, and  “User involvement in the calibration process has been minimized as much as possible.”

A third, all important feature of the 3DGence DOUBLE P255 is that it has Testing & Monitoring Certification from German test mark agency TÜV Rheinland. This certificate assures that the system is has a consistent quality in how it is made and matches stringent safety guidelines. This mark is also held by the 3DGence INDUSTRY F340 PEEK 3D printer.

Full technical specifications and pricing

The original 3DGence DOUBLE was marketed at a price of €3,095 (approx. $3825) however the company has not yet confirmed the price for 3DGence DOUBLE P255. As a preview of the 3D printer’s capabilities, the company is offering customers the opportunity to order a free sample via its website.

A first look at the new system will be available to the public at formnext 2018 in Frankfurt.
