One of the problems with modern day appliances is that it is often impossible to get replacement parts from the manufacturers in case something breaks up with the machine. This was the case for one of the Shapeways’ community members, when his Panasonic break maker became worthless because of the small broken $5 ceramic part. Rather than throwing the bread maker away, he 3D modeled a copy of the broken part and 3D printed it with Shapaways ceramic material. Now this part is available for others as well to repair their appliance.
