3D printer manufacturer Zaxe is gearing up to launch a range of new products and expand its exports, having reached its target growth rate within its domestic market, Turkey.
Having received investments from some of the country’s largest companies and leading entrepreneurs in the past year, Zaxe is now looking to bring new hardware and software products to the additive manufacturing market on 20th September 2021.
Dominating the Turkish market
Zaxe was founded in 2015 by entrepreneur Baki Gezgen, beginning with a prototype 3D printer he built in his garage. Since then, the resulting products have garnered the support of Aydonat Atasever, one of the founders of Turkey’s largest e-commerce company, in addition to other high-profile names, such as Nevzat Aydın, KVK and Emre Akıncı P.h.D.
Zaxe developed its first 3D printer, the Zaxe X1, in 2015, which was equipped with features such as WiFi, internal memory, aluminum semi-closed body, and the company’s self-developed slicer program, xDesktop. The software is designed to be user-friendly and enables the user to monitor and manage all connected devices in one program.
Off the back of the machine’s success, Zaxe was selected as the best startup out of 6,000 projects, and was awarded Best 3D printer by Chip Magazine, scoring 92 out of 100.
A couple of years later, Zaxe began ramping up its R&D activities after receiving its second investment, and has since continued to dominate the Turkish 3D printing market. In 2019, the firm launched its Z Series of 3D printers, and began micro-exports to the US, Canada, Azerbaijan, and GCC countries.
The Z Series
Zaxe is not only a 3D printer manufacturer, but has developed an entire ecosystem including hardware, software, and filaments, that can be personalized to a customer’s requirements. Since its founding in 2015, Zaxe’s 3D printer portfolio has grown to accommodate its X1, X1+ and X2 3D printer range, its Z1 and Z1+ line of machines, and its xDesktop software and filaments.
Its Z Series 3D printers are designed mainly for industrial use, especially for R&D and sectors that require high tolerances. The Z Series is also suitable for professionals, who wish to rapidly develop, prototype and print their own designs, and for hobbyists, who seek to repair broken parts and create objects, models and artwork at home.
Meanwhile, its X series of 3D printers are suitable for use within the education sector, where students can leverage the machines’ capabilities to increase their creativity and shift their focus from consumption to production.
New launches coming soon
Throughout 2020, Zaxe received funding from some of Turkey’s large companies and leading entrepreneurs and has grown its team to 45 people. In the face of growing global demand for its products, this latest support has prompted the company to expand its exports by launching several new devices.
The company is set to introduce its new products, which are currently undisclosed, to the additive manufacturing market on 20th September 2021.
