This week 3D Printing Industry joins the additive manufacturing world in Frankfurt for the return of one of the major events on the calendar – Formnext.
A vital component of the expo is the annual start-up challenge, with winners selected for free participation in the trade show including a pitch event on Day One. All week we will be profiling the winners. In this article, Erdem Ay, founder and CEO of Fited gives more information about Fited.
3DPI: When was your company founded and where are operations based?
Erdem Ay: Fited was founded in 2017 and has operations across Maastricht, Netherlands, New York, New York and Izmir, Turkey.
3DPI: Can you tell us more about your team’s background and experience with AM?
EA: Fited‘s team is interdisciplinary across software engineering, biomedical engineering, and industrial design with advanced degrees in their fields. Our team has experience in additive manufacturing for patient-specific medical devices across orthotics, scoliosis braces, and hand prosthetics.
3DPI: What does your company do?
EA: At Fited, we automate the design of patient-specific 3D printed scoliosis braces and medical devices.
3DPI: How does your company fit into the additive manufacturing ecosystem?
EA: We believe every patient is unique and deserves a medical device that perfectly fits their body. To achieve this we focus on design, biomechanics, software, and manufacturing optimization. This level of personalization is only possible through our automated design methodology and additive manufacturing.
3DPI: How would you describe the roadmap for your enterprise in the coming years?
EA: We aim to develop patient-specific medical devices across the full spectrum of orthopedics and prosthetic devices.
3DPI: Is there anything else you would like our readers to know?
EA: Our mission is to deliver globally accessible patient-specific 3D printed scoliosis braces and medical devices. We are looking for partners and investors who want to join our mission.
