Anycubic Launches First Consumer-Grade 12K Resin Printer

3D printing company Anycubic has launched the Photon Mono M5s, its first consumer-grade 12K resin printer that brings a novel combination of precision and convenience to makers, thereby elevating the overall printing experience.

The system features a 10.1-inch 12K Monochrome LCD Screen, allowing for “exceptional levels” of detail in the printed output. Furthermore, the printer employs mechanical sensors to seamlessly identify and adapt the alignment between the print platform and the floating leveling module, ensuring optimal printing conditions. Additionally, features such as enhanced printing scheme, an intelligent monitoring system for reliable printing, and upgraded Anycubic Photon Workshop 3.1 have also been provided.

James Ouyang, Vice President of Anycubic, said, “Leveling is a common and sometimes tricky step for beginners when using a resin printer. To make the printing experience even more user-friendly and hassle-free, we have integrated the leveling-free solution into our consumer-grade resin printer.”

Photon Mono M5s features high-resolution printing and automated leveling

The Photon Mono M5s boasts a 10.1-inch monochrome LCD screen with 11520 x 5120 resolution, setting a “new standard” as the first 12K 3D printer available to consumers. This screen enables users to produce models with superior precision, reaching as low as 19μm in detail. Additionally, the Photon Mono M5s offers a contrast ratio of 480:1, effectively bringing printed models to life and capturing even the smallest details.

The Photon Mono M5s is a resin printer designed for consumer use, offering an automated system that detects and adjusts the alignment between the print platform and the floating leveling module. This eliminates the need for manual leveling, providing a more user-friendly printing experience. By implementing this leveling-free solution, the Photon Mono M5s aims to enhance the success rate of prints and improve overall efficiency.

Enhanced efficiency and intelligent monitoring

Anycubic has introduced a new printing method that significantly enhances printing efficiency, resulting in an average printing speed of 105mm/h. The enhanced print speed of the Photon Mono M5s is achieved through the integration of high-speed resin and a customized 3rd Gen release film, complemented by Anycubic’s upgraded Photon Workshop 3.1 software. This combination effectively reduces printing time by up to 74%, providing users with faster and more efficient printing capabilities.

The 3rd Gen release film offers reduced release force, resulting in a higher printing success rate and improved performance in terms of release height and lifting speed. Anycubic has developed a high-speed resin specifically designed for this printer, featuring low viscosity to reduce exposure and curing time. Additionally, the Photon Mono M5s utilizes optimized motion control, enabling smoother lifting and lowering motions, thereby enhancing the overall print speed.

The Photon Mono M5s incorporates an intelligent monitoring system that focuses on maintaining a high printing success rate. This system consists of three practical modules: hardware examination, resin detection, and printing detection. Prior to initiating a print, the Photon Mono M5s conducts checks to ensure proper connectivity and functionality of the screen, mechanical detection module, and motor. Moreover, the printer verifies the availability of sufficient resin in the vat to prevent interruptions caused by resin depletion during the printing of the selected model. Throughout the printing process, the Photon Mono M5s continuously monitors the progress in real-time and promptly alerts users of any incidents through the Anycubic App.

Maintenance and optimization tips for Photon Mono M5s

After completing more than 30,000 prints, it is advised to replace the release film and reset the printing history to maintain optimal speed (or increase the lifting height by 2mm) to avoid the speed from getting slow. When operating in high-speed mode, it is recommended to utilize a 2mm hollow model. For solid or large section models, adjusting the lifting height accordingly is necessary.

In the event of bottom support breakage in “high-speed resin” mode, increasing the lift height by 1mm is recommended. When utilizing the “default resin-fast” mode in the slicing software, the lift height should be increased to 5mm.
