PrintME 3D Studio Partners Up To Help Rebuild Nepal

Nepal was recently struck with a magnitude 7.8 earthquake that collapsed buildings across a 100 mile radius and killed over 8,000 people. Emergency relief has been underway for weeks, but Nepal will need a lot of help rebuilding their infrastructure. Currently, 24,000 classrooms are out of action, as ninety percent of schools in Nepal have been badly damaged or totally destroyed. Kids can’t return to school and get back to some semblance of normalcy without a little help from builders, innovative thinkers, and people like you who want to help make a difference.

Three organizations at UK’s leading design festival, Clerkenwell Design Week, PrintME 3D Studio, charity Article 25 and Scandinavian Business Seating have teamed up to help make a difference in supporting reconstruction efforts in Nepal. PrintME 3D Studio is a London-based 3D Printing and Design Agency that is using all its creativity and innovation to come up with 3D printable designs that can be used in remote areas where basic supplies are limited, like Nepal. They are joined by Article 25, a charity that tries to provide quick and cost-effective solutions for poverty or disaster-stricken regions. Medical equipment, water filtration, engineering tools, and tooling equipment are all articles that PrintME 3D Studios is trying to produce. Scandinavian Business Seating showroom in Clerckenwell will be displaying some of the PrintME 3D’s Architecture and Interior Design prototypes at this week’s festival.

But, PrintME 3D Studio is also calling on the Maker community to send in their ideas and designs. The designs must be limited to 28 x 19 x 19 cm, unless there are several parts that fit within those requirements. The winning ideas will then be printed and published online by PrintME 3D Studio. If you have a design that you would like to send in, send them to [email protected]. If the files exceed 5MB, then send a request for a Dropbox link to the same email address.
