Stone Spray is a fascinating new research project by architects at the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia. Their goal is to produce on-site fabrication machines that are capable of constructing architectural shapes from the mix of soil and liquid binder materials. The solar powered Stone Spray technology is already in use and the eco friendly robots can print architecture scaled objects.

The robots are still small in size and production capacity, however the research team is planning to apply this same technology to be used in large scale constructions such as bridges or an on-beach beach canopy.
