New Case Of 3D Printed Personalisation for Telecomm Giant, Orange

3D Printed Case Sculpteo PumpkinPrime 3D-print-on-demand service Sculpteo has facilitated a new case printing feature on the website of European telecom giant Orange, providing a 3D printing customisation tool on its own website. Visitors to the Orange website now have the opportunity to customize their very own phone cases in the “Accessories section” of its online store. The service allows anyone to create, personalise and order a 3D-print of a case for an iPhone, or a Samsung Galaxy.

“As we see with this new partnership with Orange, large companies are beginning to integrate 3D printing to their offer,” commented Sculpteo’s CEO, Clément Moreau. “3D printing can now be seen as an effective and revolutionary means of production. By implementing this service on a website, which has millions of unique visitors every month, Sculpteo and Orange are showing that it’s now possible to offer a tangible and commercial application of 3D printing for a general use product.”

The partnership uses Sculpteo’s 3D printing Cloud Engine, which facilitates any e-commerce website to process 3D printing requests via the company. The platform user provides the hosting site and different models that they wish to offer, while Sculpteo handles production and shipping.

Luc Bretones, Executive Director of Orange Technocentre, added: “The 3D printing solution we offer with Sculpteo is a wonderful innovation for Orange customers. This unique service is a first step, we will definitely tighten our partnership in the future.
