Farm Operator and Production Manager at Super Trellis
Super Trellis, reportedly the world’s first modular trellis system for plants, is looking to hire a Farm Operator and Production Manager to oversee its growing print farm of more than 50 machines in Buffalo, New York. Marketed as a “low stress but faced paced” gig, the role requires an organized, detail-oriented person to manage the daily start up of the firm’s 3D printers, as well as their inspection and maintenance, while also overseeing filament production, part sorting, and fulfillment of orders.
Successful candidates will need to have at least two years of hands-on experience with 3D printers, particularly Marlin or RepRap, and have worked in a production environment within manufacturing or fulfillment for a year. Applicants are also required to have an understanding of Fusion 360 or Solidworks software and a degree or certification in a “technical discipline” is preferred.

Software Controls Engineer at Ulendo
3D printing software developer Ulendo is on the lookout for a Software Controls Engineer to work on developing and testing its control software for speeding and reducing the vibration of 3D printers. Based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the role will involve translating advanced algorithms into production c++ modules and integrating these into various 3D printing firmware, owning the design, delivery, integration, and troubleshooting of the firm’s control systems software.
Ideal candidates will possess a BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, with a Masters Degree preferred, alongside more than three years’ experience in building, debugging, and shipping embedded systems. Applicants must also have a strong knowledge of Python and C/C++ programming, communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART, CAN and TCP/IP, and have experience with programming microcontrollers, working with desktop 3D printers, and bringing products through prototype, design validation, and customer delivery cycles.

3D Dental Technician at David Lok Dentistry
In the business of creating smiles? Toronto-based dentist David Lok Dentistry is seeking a full-time “Hotshot 3D Dental Tech” to run its secondary location dental lab, located on Dundas Street West, Toronto.
The full-time role will suit an experienced dental technician adept at CAD and STL files for 3D printing as well as milling ceramics, veneers, dentures, and crowns. As well as being skilled at layered feldspathic and lithium disilicate ceramics to create dental veneers, staining and color matching, the successful candidate will be capable of cleaning up and organizing STL files for optimal 3D printing of aligner molds.

Andy Middleton joins XJet
Moving onto new hires, and material jetting specialist XJet has appointed Andy Middleton to its newly created role, Business Director for Central Europe. The role was created in light of the firm’s recent growth and subsequent intentions to ramp up its business infrastructure, particularly through its global sales network.
Having spent the last three decades in executive positions within the 3D printing sector, including his most recent appointment as Executive Vice President at Stratasys where he managed the firm’s European business, Middleton brings a wealth of go-to-market experience to the role.
“The core technologies behind XJet’s NanoParticle Jetting AM are phenomenal, resulting in groundbreaking material and part properties,” said Middleton. “This is what it’s all about for customers, essential for high performance ceramics and metal, so I’m excited about the journey XJet is taking. The technical ceramics market is close to tipping point with AM technology, so it’s imperative that highly certified industries such as MedTech, aerospace and energy – that use so many of these materials – understand the potential of XJet’s NanoParticle Jetting technology.
“A huge amount of compliance is required for these high performing engineering materials, and it’s my opinion XJet is uniquely capable of meeting those criteria with a scalable solution.”
3D People expands smart factory
UK-based 3D printing service 3D People has announced plans to move to a purpose-built 9,000 square foot smart factory in Woolwich, London, in a bid to “compete with the world’s leading manufacturing businesses.”
Alongside its new facility, the firm has also invested in several new technologies, including a HP MJF 5210 3D printer, which will enable it to turn rapidly turn around more durable, accurate, and competitively priced parts. 3D People will also introduce more automated post-processing technology to help it achieve its mission to become a fully operational Industry 4.0 factory.
So far, the company has worked with a number of high-profile names including the likes of Rolls-Royce and Jaguar Land Rover, to deliver production-grade parts.
“The challenges we faced initially taught us that we needed to offer a more human experience and share our know-how to enable easier access to innovation, no matter what a customer’s knowledge of 3D printing is,” said Felix Manley, 3D People Co-founder.
“Our track record and expansion plans demonstrate that this is an approach that is both wanted and needed in the industry and we will continue to develop our knowledge and service in this rapidly evolving sector.”
