Application Engineer at NanoAl

NanoAl, a manufacturer of aluminum alloys for metal additive manufacturing, is recruiting for an Application Engineer to work with its Addalloy aluminum powder technologies. The role will generally involve performing and coordinating the testing and analysis of the firm’s Addaloy powders in order to successfully commercialize them, in addition to building a relevant application and materials knowledge base for both the powders and NanoAl’s other products.

Other duties include developing close relationships with customers to provide technical assistance through phone calls, email, and visits, as well as generating the project plan for customer application-specific requests, and translating customer needs into clear product CTQs.

The successful candidate will preferably have a bachelor’s degree in Materials Science or an Engineering Degree with a background in metallurgy, and will have either an educational background or have worked for more than a year in either metallurgy, powdered metal, or additive manufacturing. Applicants must have US Person status, while proficiency with CAD/CAM software, technical report writing, and strong process and data analytical skills are desirable. EOS Group appoints Dr. Florian Mes to CPO

Leading 3D printer manufacturer EOS Group has hired Dr. Florian Mes as its new Chief Performance Officer (CPO), effective January 18. In his role, Mes will drive the implementation of the corporate strategy across the EOS Group and support the organization’s industrial digitalization transformation.

Prior to joining EOS, Mes was a partner at a management consultancy and brings expertise in the areas of business transformation and corporate finance from his previous roles.

“We warmly welcome Dr. Florian Mes to our group of companies,” said Marie Langer, EOS CEO. “He is a perfect fit with our company culture and with his knowledge and experience, he will support us in making our organization to become even more efficient, and process oriented.”

Zhenan Bao joins Azul 3D advisory board

Stretchable electronics expert and entrepreneur Zhenan Bao has joined the advisory board of 3D printer manufacturer Azul 3D. Serving as Chairperson of the chemical and engineering department at Stanford University and Co-founder of Silicon Valley tech startups C3 Nano and PyrAmes, Bao’s past work includes the development of flexible devices that have potential applications for human prostheses and robotics.

“I am delighted to serve on the scientific advisory board of Azul 3D,” she said. “High-throughput 3D printing is a gamechanger. I look forward to help advance its possibilities.”

ROBOZE advisory board gains Gilad Gans

Equipped with more than 30 years’ experience within government and international enterprises, Gilad Gans is joining Italian 3D printer manufacturer ROBOZE’s advisory board. Gans’ previous roles include North America President of Stratasys, in addition to several roles at the company, and has since co-founded several 3D printing firms over the past five years, including 3DMeditech, SmileStyler, and Serkel.

Gans is also an executive board member of multiple additive manufacturing companies, and had a previous stint at leading ERP firm SAP, among others.

“To realize our vision, to distribute manufacturing close to the point of use, we need to learn from the past in order to better define the future,” said Alessio Lorusso, Founder and CEO of ROBOZE. “I am sure that having an industry titan like Gilad in our advisory board, will be incredibly beneficial for all of us.”

Addition looks to drive sales and growth with new appointment

3D printing R&D consultancy Addition has appointed Terence Logan as its new Sales Manager to continue driving the company’s growth within the pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and packaging technology markets. 

Having previously worked within the 3D printing, manufacturing, and distribution industries throughout his career, Logan brings a proven track record of high-level customer service to his new role. Addition took the decision to expand further into key markets with the introduction of a dedicated sales manager after seeing significant growth in both sales and capability towards the end of last year.

Logan commented on his appointment: “I am very excited to be joining Addition to continue existing client relationships and to forge new ones.

“This is clearly a very exciting time to be representing Addition.”

Sigma President welcomes new additions

President and CEO of quality assurance software developer Sigma Labs, Mark Ruport, has welcomed the latest additions to the company in a letter to its shareholders, after its North American team was expanded.

Leveraging more than two decades in the 3D printing sector, Scott Hill joins Sigma as Director of Sales Western United States, and brings a wealth of sales experience across the automotive, aerospace, medical device, and industrial product industries to his new role.

Carl Thompson is appointed Director of Sales Eastern United States, and holds 13 years’ management experience within additive manufacturing. Thompson is experienced in working with the Department of Defense and federal contractors, and also has significant working 3D printing knowledge. 

Both Hill and Thompson will work with Sigma’s Senior Director Sales, Steve Immel, and report to Ron Fisher, VP Business Development.
