Account Manager at E3D in Oxfordshire, UK
Leading hotend manufacturer E3D Online is searching for a new Account Manager to join its sales team in Oxfordshire. The role mainly involves driving sales by establishing lasting relationships with clients, identifying the challenges and opportunities they face and tailoring the firm’s extrusion solutions to meet their needs.
Candidates will also be expected to continually maintain their CRM funnel and liaise with other departments, hence E3D is seeking a communicative team player to fill the vacancy. Experience in B2B sales would be beneficial, as would experience in managing bids and quotes, while those with tenacity and a drive to succeed are encouraged to apply.
The position, which is temporarily remote but will eventually require travel to Oxfordshire, is being advertised with a salary of £25,000-£35,000. Interested parties can find out more about the Account Manager role at E3D via the 3D Printing Industry job site.
3D Systems reveals plans to expand HQ
3D printer manufacturer 3D Systems has announced that it intends to build on its South Carolina headquarters, adding another 100,000 sq. feet to the facility. The expansion will allow the firm to consolidate its manufacturing, quality control, and logistics operations, and introduce new material development labs that drive greater R&D efficiency.
3D Systems also intends to use the additional space as an enhanced sales environment, in which its engineers can liaise with clients about their manufacturing needs. The move, which is set to be completed by early 2022, is part of a broader restructuring plan announced last year, that aims to return the company to profitability by the end of 2021.
“Through our restructuring and investment activities, we will bring new jobs to the area over the next five years,” said Dr. Jeffrey Graves, President and CEO of 3D Systems. “The combination of state-of-the-art facilities; renowned hardware, materials, and software will be a catalyst for us to take our innovation to new heights.”
JPB Système gains funding for new facility
Aerospace part manufacturer JPB Système has secured funding from the French Ministry for Economy and Finance to build a new state-of-the-art facility. As part of the firm’s broader €30 million ‘Villaroche 2025’ project, it intends to construct the 40,000m2 complex adjacent to its existing factory, providing it with the room it needs for future expansion.
In addition to acting as the company’s main manufacturing base, the additional space will allow JPB to explore opportunities for growth in areas such as mobility, nuclear, oil and gas. The new workspace is also set to include advanced 3D printing and robotics equipment, and the firm eventually aims to develop its own technologies for creating flight-ready components.

PADT hires new Sales and Support VP
Simulation tool and 3D printing service provider PADT has appointed Jim Sanford as the new VP of its Sales and Support division. As VP, Sanford is now responsible for driving the department’s key sales and customer support metrics, and reports directly to the company’s Co-founder and Principal Ward Rand.
Elsewhere, Sanford’s enhanced duties will involve organizing, hiring and training his sales team, so that they can deliver the best possible client experiences when using Stratasys and Ansys 3D printing products. Sanford brings over 30 years’ leadership and engineering experience to the role, including stints at Siemens and Dassault Systèmes among others.
“Jim is a valuable addition to the team, and will be instrumental in sustaining PADT’s growth across the region,” said Rand. “His leadership, experience and knowledge of the industry will allow us to increase the pace of expansion, and bring our solutions to serve new and existing customers in deeper and more impactful ways.”
Desktop announces leadership changes
Massachusetts-based 3D printer manufacturer Desktop Metal has hired James Haley as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Haley, who has served as the company’s VP of Finance since last year, brings over 25 years of relevant experience to the role, and will now work closely with current CFO Elizabeth Linardos to ensure a smooth handover.
Desktop has also appointed Arjun Aggarwal, its VP of Product and Business Development, as its Chief Product Officer. In his new role, Aggarwal will be responsible for setting the firm’s product portfolio strategy and establishing strategic partnerships that allow the company to take advantage of long-term growth opportunities.
“The company has an extraordinary opportunity to change how industrial businesses innovate across product design, manufacturing, and supply chain,” said Aggarwal. “I’m excited to continue exploring our customers’ evolving needs, and working with our team in this new role to bring exceptional solutions to market.”
Caltech professor joins Azul 3D board
Illinois-headquartered 3D printer manufacturer Azul 3D has announced that the California Institute of Technology’s nanotechnology pioneer Julia Greer has joined its advisory board. Greer specializes in 3D printing micro- and nano-materials, and was recognized for her work last year, being named one of CNN’s 2020 Visionaries.
Azul has already made a flurry of changes so far in 2021, adding Zhenan Bao, an expert in creating flexible electronics from Stanford University, and renowned litigators Steven Cherny and Ray Nimrod to its advisory board over the last month.
“I am very excited to be a part of the advisory board of such a creative and forward-thinking company,” said Greer. “The processes and products of Azul 3D resonate with my own research passion for nano- and micro-architected materials, and provide a powerful platform for enabling our society’s ‘additively manufactured future.’
