Azul 3D appoints Tuan TranPham as Chief Revenue Officer
Azul 3D, the company behind the High Area Rapid Printing (HARP) technology, has appointed Tuan TranPham as its Chief Revenue Officer (CRO). TranPham has joined the company in the run-up to its first commercial 3D printer launch, following a period of rapid growth. Just last year, Azul 3D secured $10 million in an oversubscribed seed financing round and has now signed an exclusive development partnership with DuPont Electronics.
Boasting over 18 years of experience in the 3D printing industry, TranPham was recently the chief revenue officer of AREVO. Over his career, he has also held senior positions at big-name firms such as Z Corporation, 3D Systems, Objet, Stratasys, Arcam (a GE company), and Desktop Metal.
“Tuan is joining our company at a key moment,” said Chad Mirkin, Azul 3D’s co-founder and chair. “In the past year, we have made major strides in advanced manufacturing, and the results are game-changing. We are excited to be able to soon share our advances with the world.”

Digital Manufacturing Centre launches new 3D printing facility
The Digital Manufacturing Centre (DMC) has launched its new advanced engineering and production facility at Silverstone Park, UK. The 2000 sq.m. manufacturing facility features a whole host of advanced 3D printing technologies and is designed to address the needs of clients in sectors such as aerospace, automotive, and medical. As well as forming a major part of the UK’s advanced engineering supply chain, the new facility will also play a key role in building STEM skills within the Oxfordshire-Cambridgeshire Arc.
The opening of the facility was attended by three local MPs: Dame Andrea Leadsom, Andrew Lewer, and Greg Smith, as well as representatives from SEMLEP, BTVLEP, Silverstone Technology Cluster, and Silverstone UTC.
Kieron Salter, CEO of the DMC, said, “This is a significant moment for us, the realization of a vision. Undertaking construction and fit-out in the middle of a global pandemic has not been without its challenges, but thanks to the support of our partners and SEMLEP, the DMC team’s efforts speak for themselves. While we have been operating at a limited capacity on a select few customer projects, we are now opening the doors and offering these unprecedented capabilities to wider industry.”
CRP Technology celebrates 25 year anniversary
Italian 3D printing service provider CRP Technology has celebrated its 25th anniversary. Launched by Roberto Cevolini back in 1996, CRP Technology started by investing in a sinter station for Selective Laser Sintering – at the time, it was the only company in Italy to own one. By the end of the 1990s, the firm had launched its Windform range of composite 3D printing materials, which have now seen use in applications such as satellites, patch testing for the medical sector, and fashion and design.
Roberto Cevolini’s son, Engineer Franco Cevolini, VP and CTO at CRP Technology, stated, “Purchasing an industrial 3D printer wasn’t enough for us, we wanted to make a major and stronger contribution: we decided to create a family of 3D printing materials suitable to manufacture high performing parts and applications, which could meet the needs of our F1 customers.”
