In Mother Russia MiniMe3D 3D Prints Haute Couture

Russian 3D printing and scanning company MiniMe3D recently helped fashion designer Igor Chapurin present selected pieces from his 15th anniversary Haute Couture collection as 3D printed, miniature statues. His recent fashion show was held at the Metropol Hotel in Moscow and offered a classic catwalk exhibition, while an installation featuring the 3D printed statutes was on display nearby.

Chapurin selected three looks to be worn by one of his models and 3D scanned them using an Artec Eva 3D scanner.  The designer himself was, then, also scanned for the occasion. MiniMe3D transformed the 3D scans into 3D models and printed them on their in-house, full-color 3D Systems ProJet 660 3d printer

Guests at the fashion show were allowed to take photographs with the statues, along with Chapurin, as well. Due to the extreme detail of the 14-inch statues, guests marveled at how clearly they showed off Chapurin’s clothes.

The Moscow-based 3D printing company has only been open for a year; however, they have already received a lot of attention from their local community and the nation’s celebrities. Additionally, prominent businessmen, professional athletes and members of the media have all become 3D printed statues though the company.  Just take a look at a commercial for MiniMe3D:

MiniMe3D offers their mini-selfie statues in three different sizes: 8 inches, 14 inches, and a massive 20 inches. They also provide rigorous post-processing and after-print cleaning, so that the models maintain the incredible detail and color possible with the ProJet series of 3D printers.
