Makies Set a Precedent as First Compliant 3D Printed Toys

MakieLab has today announced that the Makies have made history as the world’s first CE-certified EN71-compliant 3D printed toy. I have never hidden my sheer delight at the Makie concept (from initial web interaction through customizable options to the 3D printed results) and it is great to see this UK startup reach another important milestone. As a result, the Makies — each one-of-a-kind — are now EU approved for kids aged 3 and up and will display the CE mark.

Makies are free to design, manufactured on-demand in nylon and assembled by hand in MakieLab’s London workshop. A selection of pre-made dolls is also available for purchase in the Makies Shop, along with an ever-expanding selection of 3D printed accessories and beautiful handmade clothes.
