MakerBot Digitizer Update(s)

Digitizer, the 3D scanner concept on a moving turntable that Makerbot’s Bre Pettis introduced at the SXSW earlier year, is off to a season of regular updates – weekly written, image-incorporated sum-ups of the prototype’s iterations and other happenings on their blog. This might be just the right frequency for many, who are eagerly waiting the missing 3DP link – easy and affordable scanning – specifically from a company, which has become the face of 3D printing for many consumers.

The first update is more of a general kick-off to the whole transparent-like consumer-oriented process, but already visualizes the potential of the Digitizer with a few samples of the results the machine will be able to produce. Take a look at the gallery below to see them for yourself.
