Robert Lindsay is the brand partnership manager and project lead of GoDigical, a platform solution developed by MyMiniFactory that allows brands to harness the disruptive nature of 3D printing. Lindsay explains,MyMiniFactory is reaching out to brands to embrace the possibilities of 3D printing, by giving young designers the templates they need, to build ever growing “google extensions” style libraries of 3D printable content that adds functionality to their core products.”

“Extreme Flyers has been quick to embrace this on their DIY drone model, which bridges the gap nicely between drone enthusiasts, and the toy/first-time users market.”

Several pro-flyers will be at the event to show off their skills and give expert advice. Visitors will also be able to see the $99 3D printer used to 3D print drones.

Modifications made possible using 3D printing include a system to protect a drone from damage and frames designed to allow alternative camera mounts. Also available to fly will be designs from the MyMiniFactory community, including this model from Wilfried Poirier.

UK Drone Show experts will also be at the event and giving demonstrations of their piloting skills. Visitors can see an ‘autonomous’ drone which is easier to fly and is controlled through a smartphone app.

The event is free to attend and take part in. It runs from Thursday 17th August until Saturday 19th August and is open between 10AM and 6PM.
