Last year’s Formnext Forum Tokyo

Since its launch in 2019, Formnext Forum Tokyo has gradually expanded to become a hub for business exchange and networking opportunities for the 3D printing sector. Despite the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, a scaled-down version of the 2020 event forged ahead in-person, welcoming 29 exhibitors and 710 visitors.

At the time, Managing Director of Messe Frankfurt Japan Yasushi Kajiwara expressed the importance of in-person events for future growth within the industry, saying: “Despite the unique challenges we faced this year, Formnext Forum Tokyo has again shown its effectiveness at supporting business and idea exchange.”

Travel restrictions amid the pandemic did, however, force Formnext to reschedule its trade show as an online event instead during November 2020, which Messe Frankfurt deemed a success with 203 exhibitors and more than 8,500 active participants from over 100 nations virtually attending the event.

Looking ahead to this year’s event, Formnext will look to combine both digital and in-person elements as it returns to Messe Frankfurt between 16-19 November.

Formnext Forum Tokyo 2021

The 2021 edition of Formnext Forum Tokyo will invite experts from Japan and overseas to share their knowledge and insights through seminars spanning a wide variety of additive manufacturing topics. In light of recent challenging business conditions for many in the sector, the event will seek to create opportunities to cultivate new markets and bring industry players and customers together in-person once more.

Experts from a multitude of industry sectors are tipped to take part in the event, ranging from automotive, aviation and aerospace, to construction, health care, electronics, and research and development, in addition to a whole host of other areas.

Meanwhile, the exhibition floor will display an array of 3D printing products, materials, and processes spanning each step in state-of-the-art industrial production process chains, including series production.

Messe Frankfurt Japan has assured it will facilitate a safe business environment for participants with all appropriate safety and hygiene measures in place to protect against the spread of Covid-19.
