UTec Expands Educational Sector Reach For Print-Rite Colido 3D Printer

UTec Print-Rites’ Colido 3D printer team is reaching out to colleges and universities globally. In collaboration with the local distributor, MRF Trading Company, in Bangladesh, Colido 3D printers were presented at the ceremony when Bangladesh University founded their first 3D print lab, which was founded in November.  At the formal opening ceremony guests were shown the capacity of Colido 3D printers and an overview given of the educational potential of the desktop manufacturing machines.

colido 3d printerUnion-tec (UTec) is a global supplier of quality printer consumables and offers an extensive range of remanufactured laser printers, copiers, inkjet printers, dot matrix printers and multi-functional machines. Recently UTec has entered the 3D printing field with their Print-Rite Colido 3D printers. The company states that it has a strong research and development capacity and a portfolio of some 2,200 registered patents. UTec states that it will continue to push for an expansion in the educational sector for 3D printers. Dr Kaykobad, Professor and Head of Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Bangladesh University said: ‘Colido 3D printers can fuel limitless creativity when students get to see.’

colido 3d printerAlongside the Bangladesh deal, UTec has also formalised an arrangement for its Colido 3D printers to be used at the design center of Polytechnic College, Zhuhai City — a prefecture-level city on the southern coast of the Guangdong province in China. The 3D printers will be a central part of the educational program at the faculty. Mr Lui, Deputy Headmaster of Zhuhai City Polytechnic College said: “In order to encourage students to apply 3D printing technology, a 3D design competition will be held here shortly.”
