Watashi wa Domo-kun! 3DLT Offers Awesome Domo-kun 3D Printed Ornament For The Holidays!

You’ve seen this character before. You know who he is. It’s one of those things where if you know the name of the character, you probably are a huge fan.  If not, well, you’ve seen it, you think it’s pretty cute and funny.

Domo-kun!!

“Domokun” was created on December 22, 1998 to mark the 10th anniversary creation of a broadcasting satellite service by the Japan Broadcasting Corporation (NHK). “Domokun” was an instant hit.  He soon became popular across all age groups, probably because of how great stop-motion animation was and is.  Now that I think of it, I remember being somewhat terrified of stop motion animation as a child, but it was more the Claymation stop-motion than the fuzzy warm Domo-kun kind.

Anyway, in 2004, “Domokun” became popular as the NHK character as well as BS character. In 2005, “Domokun” was the first Japanese cartoon program to be broadcast on Nickelodeon. Since then “Domokun” programs have been broadcast in more than 170 countries and regions including the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Korea. Moreover, “Domokun” appears frequently in character items, picture books, video games and many other places.
