Siemens, a German industrial technology company focused on automation, electrification, and industrial software, and NVIDIA, a U.S.-based developer of GPUs and AI computing platforms, have announced an expansion of their strategic partnership centered on industrial artificial intelligence. According to the companies, the collaboration combines NVIDIA’s AI computing platforms with Siemens’ industrial software and hardware to support AI-enabled industrial systems.
Under the expanded partnership, the U.S. chipmaker will provide AI infrastructure, simulation libraries, models, frameworks, and reference blueprints. Siemens will contribute industrial hardware, software platforms, and teams of industrial AI specialists. According to the announcement, the effort applies AI within physical industrial environments, including manufacturing operations and industrial workflows.
“Together, we are building the Industrial AI operating system — redefining how the physical world is designed, built and run — to scale AI and create real-world impact,” said Roland Busch, President and CEO of Siemens AG. “By combining NVIDIA’s leadership in accelerated computing and AI platforms with Siemens’ leading hardware, software, industrial AI and data, we’re empowering customers to develop products faster with the most comprehensive digital twins, adapt production in real time and accelerate technologies from chips to AI factories.”
Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA, described the role of AI and simulation in industrial systems. “Generative AI and accelerated computing have ignited a new industrial revolution, transforming digital twins from passive simulations into the active intelligence of the physical world,” Huang said. “Our partnership with Siemens fuses the world’s leading industrial software with NVIDIA’s full-stack AI platform to close the gap between ideas and reality.”

Huang has previously described the application of generative AI to robotics and automation as a significant inflection point. “The ChatGPT moment for robotics is here,” said Jensen Huang in an interview cited by The Economist.
Manufacturing systems and digital twins
Work under the expanded collaboration includes AI-enabled production systems that combine industrial software, automation, and simulation. According to the companies, these systems use digital twins alongside software-defined automation and industrial operations software, integrated with NVIDIA Omniverse libraries and NVIDIA AI infrastructure.
A reference implementation is planned for 2026 at Siemens’ Electronics Factory in Erlangen, Germany. Siemens stated that the site will serve as a reference for applying AI-enabled manufacturing technologies within an operational production environment.
Several industrial companies are evaluating elements of the expanded collaboration, including Foxconn, an electronics manufacturing services provider; HD Hyundai, which operates in shipbuilding and heavy industry; KION Group, a manufacturer of industrial trucks and automation systems; and PepsiCo, a multinational food and beverage producer.

Simulation and AI models
As part of the partnership expansion, Siemens will complete GPU acceleration across its simulation software portfolio. Support for NVIDIA CUDA-X libraries and AI-based physics models will be expanded across Siemens simulation tools, enabling execution of larger simulation workloads using GPU computing.
The companies also stated that NVIDIA PhysicsNeMo models and open AI frameworks will be used in simulation workflows. According to the announcement, these models are applied within digital twin environments used for engineering analysis and system optimization.
Joint development under the partnership also includes a standardized blueprint for AI factory infrastructure addressing power distribution, cooling, automation, and energy efficiency requirements associated with high-density AI computing environments. This work combines NVIDIA’s AI platform roadmap, infrastructure expertise, and Omniverse-based simulation tools with Siemens’ capabilities in electrification, power infrastructure, grid integration, automation, and digital twins.

Both companies stated that technologies developed under the partnership will be deployed internally prior to broader customer availability.
