BigRep rising with new appointment in USA

BigRep has appointed Frank Marangell as President of BigRep America Inc. and EVP of Global Sales.

Marangell has a long history in the 3D printing industry, having previously held the role as President of Objet USA. More recently Marangell was CEO of Rize, a position he held for almost three and half years.

In an interview with 3D Printing Industry last year Marangell gave further details about the Rize One and its Augmented Polymer Deposition technology, a system using a combination of inkjet and FDM/FFF 3D printing.

Rize began shipping of the Rize One 3D printer in June 2017. In August the company announced that NASA are now a customer.

Investing in a global team of experienced 3D printing executives

This latest appointment by BigRep follows the news that former Stratasys CTO, Moshe Aknin, had joined the company.

Earlier this month BigRep’s CEO and co-founder, René Gurka, told us how the current funding round has reached double digit millions. At the time Gurka said the investment will be used, “Mostly for further growth globally and tech development.” This latest hire shows how quickly BigRep are putting this plan into action.

Speaking about today’s news Gurka said, “This is a very exciting summer (2017). We have added Moshe Aknin as our new CTO, started a successful funding round and have now secured the perfect candidate to lead and expand our US operations. Frank Marangell is the best candidate for any 3D company in the US. When he became available I immediately reached out to him and offered him this role at BigRep.”

Marangell adds, “I have been following BigRep for the last three years and appreciate their high-quality large industrial printers. BigRep already has customers all over the US and now it´s the perfect time to build a larger US team and grow the business. In my view BigRep is the most successful new European 3D printing company with the most trusted large-scale printers. It is quality German engineering at a very competitive price.”
