BCN3D Technologies launches Sigma R19 and the Sigmax R19 3D printers – technical specifications and pricing

Barcelona’s BCN3D Technologies, an open-source 3D printer manufacturer, has unveiled a new generation of FFF dual extruder 3D printers: the Sigma R19 and the Sigmax R19.

“The new Sigma R19 and Sigmax R19 are equipped with one of the most powerful extrusion systems so far and also with the unique IDEX architecture. Such a great combination turn both printers into two of the most productive and reliable 3D printers ever seen,” stated Xavier Martinez, CEO of BCN3D Technologies.

A new generation of FFF 3D printers

The new Sigma R19 is a desktop 3D Printer with an Independent Dual Extruder (IDEX) architecture designed to deliver high-resolution multi-material parts, while the new Sigmax R19 is a professional 3D printer with IDEX architecture capable of producing massive printing volume. The latter is targeted for those wanting to increase production capacity with industrial-grade parts; and the former is designed for a wider span of creators seeking reliable, high-quality 3D printing.

The new dual hotends included in both printers have been optimized by the UK-based E3D Online, an award-winning 3D printing technology developer and marketplace. The improved hotends provide a smooth and reliable extrusion under various printing environments and are fully compatible with all previous Sigma and Sigmax printers. Additionally, the IDEX architecture allows symmetrical printing with both toolheads simultaneously in two colors for double the production capacity.

Furthermore, the extruder of the new R19 printers is made from aluminum CNC machined body and hardened steel drive gears powered by Bondtech. The dual drive gears also provide a strong grip for an optimized feeding extrusion system, as it eliminates grinding issues on any filaments used.

A user-friendly interface

The new R19 printers include a full-color touchscreen for users to control the progress of their prints. In addition, a mechanical switch to detect filament presence has been integrated to prevent filament scarcities during an ongoing print job. This feature will automatically pause and warn the user to load new filament to resume the print.

The ultimate test of a product comes when the users confront it, not just from a list of its specifications. That’s why we’ve taken special care of each phase of the user experience,” said  Marc Felis, Marketing Manager of BCN3D Technologies.
