Austin's Roueche Graduate Center to Offer Professional Courses on 3D Printing

As the world prepares to incorporate the exciting technology of 3D printing into businesses wherever it can, companies are beginning to look for ways that 3D printing may benefit them.  To offer business professionals a means for learning how 3D printing might fit into their operations, the Roueche Graduate Center at National American University in Austin, Texas will be offering graduate-level courses on how to incorporate 3D printing technology into the manufacturing supply chain.

The Center’s Executive Education classes are meant to inform professionals on how 3D printing might aid their businesses by offering live supply chain simulation case studies, in which students will examine how 3D printing impacts US companies competing in the global market.  Such case studies include restructuring corporate supply chains, sourcing locally, or managing risk with 3D printing as a backup manufacturing option.  Teaching the courses will be the founders of 3D Innovation Labs and a sales manager of 3D Systems reseller TAVCO.

Senior Vice President of the Roueche Graduate Center, Margaretta B Mathis, reflected on how their program will fit into the growing 3D printing industry, “There is no doubt that 3D printing technology will significantly impact supply chains in the next five years. We want our new Executive Education to capture concerns, considerations, and solutions that business leaders, executives and professionals should consider when re-evaluating their global competitiveness supply chain by taking part in a hands-on, real-world sensitivity analysis using actual scenarios that their company could face.”

Priced at $1,500 per course, the Center suggests that the program may be a potential resource for business professionals that may require training on the technology for employees, to ensure that they are familiar with the technology as it continues to develop.  Along with their new program, the school will be providing a certification course titled “Leading Innovation and Change with 3D Printing Technology”.
