Additive International summit confirms speakers from leading 3D printing research institutions

The UK’s Additive International summit, taking place 9th – 11th July, has confirmed its list of speakers for 2019. Many world-class academic teams are represented by the line-up, including the award winning Cranfield University, Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), the University of Nottingham and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL).

Glass optics, computed axial lithography, vat photopolymerization, embedded sensors, NASA metallic hardware development, and motorsport brakes are just some of the topics to be discussed at the event, which is also now open for registration.

“Additive International prides itself on providing a platform to share the latest research, developments and applications in additive manufacturing – as well as to address its challenges,” comments summit chair Professor Richard Hague, “This year’s conference is no exception.”

“We look forward to welcoming new and established voices from across the AM community to share ideas, network and collaborate on ideas to help move technologies and processes forward, and to tackle some of the obstacles the industry faces.”

Current innovations and the future of additive manufacturing

Additive International is an event spilt in two. Tuesday 9th July 2019 is considered the “Pre-Conference Event,” sponsored by Added Scientific, giving attendees the opportunity to visit the AM Labs at the University of Nottingham Centre for Additive Manufacturing, and a presentation schedule focusing on the Future of Additive Manufacturing. The list of speakers for the Pre-Conference Event are as follows:

– Stewart Williams, Cranfield University, whose current focus is on the development of large-scale WAAM technology
– Tim Hope, Manger of the Additive Manufacturing Centre at GKN Aerospace
– Iain Todd, Director of the Mapp EPSRC Future Manufacturing Hub
– James Logan, UK Collaborative R&D Funding Manager at the MTC
– Katy Milne, Chief Engineer of DRAMA project at the MTC
– Richard Hague, Director of Centre for Additive Manufacturing (CfAM) at University of Nottingham & Added Scientific
– Ricky Wildman, part of the Additive Manufacturing and 3D Printing Research Group at The University of Nottingham
– Robert Scudamore, Associate Director, Group Manager of Joining Technologies, Additive Manufacturing at TWI Ltd.
