Pac-Dent, a manufacturer of preventive care, has acquired Ackuretta Technologies, a Taiwan-based developer of dental laboratory and chairside 3D printing hardware. This acquisition supports Pac-Dent’s goal of creating an open, interoperable ecosystem that integrates materials, software, and hardware—including printers, companion devices, and workflow tools—to streamline 3D printing for clinicians and labs globally.
“The most important aspect of this acquisition is how it amplifies our open-system vision,” said Daniel Wang, CEO of Pac-Dent. “By combining best-in-class materials, intelligent software, and versatile hardware, we are building the most accessible and adaptable digital dentistry platform on the market. Just as important, we are thrilled to welcome Ackuretta’s outstanding international team—spanning Taiwan, France, Germany, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, South America, and the Middle East. Their expertise strengthens our innovation pipeline, enhances product reliability, and expands global customer support.”

Pac-Dent has been expanding its R&D efforts, collaborating with universities and institutions on AI-driven dental solutions. By integrating Ackuretta’s printer platform and ALPHA AI CAM software, the company aims to enhance chairside and laboratory offerings, focusing on workflow automation and data-driven innovation.
Customer Support & Integration
Pac-Dent emphasized that its platform will remain open. The addition of Ackuretta provides customers with a validated in-house hardware option, while Pac-Dent will continue collaborating with other open-system hardware manufacturers. Validation across leading dental 3D printer brands will be maintained and expanded, allowing dealers and distributors to use Pac-Dent’s materials and workflows across multiple platforms—supporting flexibility, effective clinical outcomes, and a collaborative approach to digital dentistry.
To support integration, Pac-Dent is providing technical assistance in North America, including spare parts distribution, engineering escalation, and a combined knowledge and training program covering setup, calibration, validated resins, and troubleshooting. Customers will also receive training on Rodin-validated workflows. This approach helps clinicians and labs transition efficiently from installation to production while optimizing clinical outcomes.
Beyond this acquisition, Pac-Dent is advancing initiatives such as new digital workflow platforms, partnerships to expand design and metal printing capabilities, and continued development in AI-driven data acquisition and chairside treatment solutions.

Recent Developments in Dental 3D Printing Technology
In March, Axtra3D, a developer of high-speed stereolithography (SLA) systems, introduced four new dental resins, expanding its portfolio of validated materials for the Lumia X1 printer. The new additions—NextDent Model Sand, Pro3dure Splint 19.1 AO/MSI, Pro3dure Denture 14.2, and Pro3dure Crown & Bridge—are now available with optimized print profiles, aimed at increasing accuracy and production efficiency for digitally manufactured dental models, splints, dentures, and restorations.
Separately, 3D Systems obtained FDA 510(k) clearance for its multi-material 3D printed denture solution, integrating NextDent Jet Denture Teeth and Base into a single monolithic appliance. The system leverages the company’s MultiJet Printing technology to enable high-volume production with minimal manual labor. This solution focuses on break resistance and material realism, providing an automated alternative to conventional denture fabrication. The clearance marks a step in 3D Systems’ expansion of its digital dentistry portfolio, which emphasizes automation, material integration, and throughput for restorative dental workflows.
