EOS’ digital factory

German company EOS are exhibiting their industrial 3D printing offerings in the’Digital Factory’ section. At the event, EOS will present polymer-based 3D printing with their P 396 machine and their array of digital manufacturing solutions.

Dr. Adrian Keppler, CMO at EOS, explains how EOS’ technology “is already changing the way companies design and manufacture products.” Dr. Keppler also stated that,

In the context of Industry 4.0, industrial 3D printing is set to play a key role in developing the digitalized, intelligent factory of the future. At the same time, the technology gives companies greater flexibility and agility in adapting to ever changing market conditions.

Hannover announcements

Announcements from Hannover Messe have already begun with SAP launching their Digital Manufacturing application today. The software intends to advance industrial 3D printing as part of a digital manufacturing system.

While German institute, Fraunhofer will be present in Hannover showcasing their latest software solution, “Go Beyond 4.0”. The simulation software intends to facilitate 3D printing by testing proposed objects prior to printing. The product fits the bill for addressing industry 4.0 as it can automatically find defects with a 3D printable object.
