3D Printing Front and Centre at FabLabHubs DigiFab 2014

The interactive DigiFab Con 2014 is returning to Baltimore in November where they will examine the areas that 3D printing and digital fabrication have influenced and driven advances in education, manufacturing, job training and the creation and founding of start-ups.

digifab interactive w kids 3D printing The one-day event will take place on November 17th at the Maritime Conference Center in Baltimore, Maryland. The show will allow attendees to interact with live presentations and demonstrations, attend panel discussions and meet and speak to industry leaders about making 3D printing a part of their lives and businesses. DigiFab Con will also feature live demonstrations of digital fabrication tools like laser cutters, CNC milling machines and, of course, 3D printers. It will also feature 3D printed badges for attendees, and there will be a demonstration on the fabrication of the badges from the local FabLab that designed them.

The DigiFab Con Program Chair will be a representative from Potomac Photonics, and 3D Systems VP of Corporate Development & Ventures Hugh Evans will deliver a keynote speech on 3D printing and the future of manufacturing. The director of Fab Foundation Sherry Lassiter will be sharing projects from the 400 plus network of Fab Labs all over the world, while Detroit’s Incite Focus executive director Blair Evans will discuss the ways that local Fab Labs are helping to rebuild inner city communities.

The event will feature 3D scanning, SOLIDWORKS and digital fabrication demonstrations. There will also be talks featuring educators, researchers, artists and designers about the role that 3D printing plays in their respective industries. DigiFab Con is being underwritten by the Deutsch Foundation and is helping organizers find other organisations to help support the event and keep attendees badge prices to a minimum. The standard attendee badge will cost $199, however if you register before October 17th it will only cost $149.
