BEEVERYCREATIVE Launch BEESOFT 3.8.0

What did you make of the BEETHEFIRST 3D printer from Mike’s review? It’s a great looking machine that makes a good effort towards achieving the plug-and-play ideal I think. Maybe you own one yourself? If so you’ll be interested to know that the company behind the BEETHEFIRST 3D printer, BEEVERYCREATIVE,has launched the latest iteration of it’s BEESOFT software, version 3.8.0, their first non-Beta release. Amongst the upgrades are iimproved printing with support material and integration with CuraEngine.

BEEVERYCREATIVE says that this release is the product of much intensive testing, by a considerable number of people (more than thirty people were involved according to the company) involving many hundreds of test 3D prints. The company believes that it has now honed the software to consider it a significant upgrade. BEEVERYCREATIVE likes to share. So the code that they have written for the integration of CuraEnginewillbe made available to the community as open source. The major improvements include:

  • Substantial reduction in slicing time, through the integration of CuraEngine;
  • Better management of computer resources: it uses less memory and CPU;
  • Better printing with support material;
  • Better general stability and reliability of the communication protocol.

The company is also looking to expand it’s distribution network to become truly international after receiving CE marking last year. The BEETHEFIRST 3D printer has now received the GS certification, for the German market, and UL certification, for US & Canada markets. Furthermore, to simplify the growth of its distribution network, BEEVERYCREATIVE has now created three different entry distributor packages.

BEEVERYCREATIVE says that they are also going to unveil the next big upgrade in their hardware over the coming weeks, an open-source add-on that will provide connectivity to the BEETHEFIRST 3D printer. The add-onwill also work with BEETHEFIRST printers already sold and be an intrinsic feature in their new printers. The Beta version shall be available soon and the company says that it hopes to stimulate and propagate collaboration from makers.
